The restaurant opens out into a conservatory
which shares the same southerly aspect as most of
the other rooms. The restaurant captures the evening
sun on summer nights and darker nights, outside lighting
gives a special charm to the dining experience.
"In the conservatory style restaurant,
candlelit at night, the
ambiance is 'relaxed', and the service, surpervised
by Fiona Franks, is thought 'impeccable'"
The Good Hotel Guide 2004
The food is sophisticated and has been awarded three
rosettes by the AA each year since 1997. Beef, lamb,
venison and game are sourced locally and fish and
shellfish is delivered from Aberdeen and the west
coast.
In 1997, Darroch Learg was the first
in Scotland to receive the AA's new "Wine List
of the Year". The list of over 200 bins is a
good read and the fixed amount mark-up gives excellent
value on the better wines.
